Our commitment
eG insight Design wants everyone to be able to use our websites — eginsightdesign.com and eg-id.com — regardless of ability, device, or the assistive technology they rely on. We build websites for a living, so we hold our own to the same standard we aim for on client work.
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our target. We are not claiming that every page meets every criterion today. This page says plainly what we do, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.
What we do
- Structure: pages use real headings, landmarks, lists, labels and buttons so screen readers and other tools can make sense of them.
- Keyboard: menus, forms, dialogs and the nomination form can be reached and operated without a mouse, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
- Readability: text is set at comfortable sizes with strong contrast against the background, and pages reflow on small screens and when you zoom.
- Motion: animation is kept light, and it is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Forms: every field has a label, required fields are marked, and errors are described in words rather than by color alone.
- Images: meaningful images carry text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from assistive technology.
Display preferences
The round button in the bottom corner of eginsightdesign.com opens a preferences panel where you can adjust text size, spacing, contrast, motion and reading aids. Your choices are saved in your own browser only. The panel is a convenience — it is not a substitute for building pages properly, and it does not by itself make a page conform to any standard.
Known limitations
- Portfolio screenshots are pictures of other websites. We describe each one in text, but the text inside the image itself cannot be read aloud. Each links to the live site.
- Third-party services we rely on — such as Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form and payment pages run by Stripe — are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
- Our tools on eg-id.com (for example the QR code designer and the e-signature pages) are visual, interactive applications. They are usable by keyboard in most places, but parts of them — such as placing a signature box on a PDF — currently depend on a pointer.
- The word puzzle on the nomination form can be solved by keyboard. If it gets in your way for any reason, email us the nomination instead and it will count just the same.
Tell us what isn't working
If something on either site is hard to use, we want to know. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will get you the information or service another way and work on a fix.

How we check
As pages are built we check them with a keyboard only and at phone and desktop sizes, and we fix what we find. We review this statement whenever the sites change in a meaningful way.
